Baba Yaga & Vasilisa
Vasilisa the Beautiful is mistreated by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters. Her dying mother gives her a magical doll. The stepmother sends Vasilisa to Baba Yaga's hut in the deep forest to get a light. With the help of the magical doll, Vasilisa completes Baba Yaga's challenging tasks and obtains a skull with burning eyes. Returning home, the magical doll guides Vasilisa to keep the skull away from others. The fiery skull scares the wicked family, leading to their demise. The story highlights Vasilisa's resilience, the assistance of her magical doll, and the consequences of mistreating others. The set of illustrations includes one exterior scene and one interior scene, along with two illuminated letters and two spot illustrations for each section.
